Following its Annual General Meeting, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has released the opening fixtures for the 2024/2025 season.
The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will be start with the Charity Cup. NPFL defending champions Rangers, and President Federation Cup winners El Kanemi Warriors will face off on August 31, 2024.
Matchday 1 will continue on September 7, 2024 and culminate on September 8. Here are the fixtures;

Kano Pillars vs Ikorodu City

The league was previously known as the “Nigeria Premier League” between 1993 and 2000, and between 2003 and 2013. It has also been known as the “Nigerian Premiership” (2000–2003); “Nigerian Professional League” (1990–1993); Nigerian National League – First Division (1979–1990) and “the (Nigerian) National League” or “Nigerian Football League” (1972–1979) and more recently “Nigeria Professional Football League” (2014–2023).
This will be its 35th season.
